The CampBound.com (Earthwild) Story

CampBound.com was founded in 2004 (Earthwild 2023) out of the garage of Brian Sehner (our Founder, President & CEO) with only a few hundred dollar investment (i.e. credit card debt).   CampBound.com was originally launched as an online retail site selling only camp supplies for kids and teens heading off to summer camps and summer adventure programs.  CampBound.com has experienced tremendous growth since our founding when Brian Sehner personally processed and shipped EVERY order from his (Arizona non-air-conditioned) garage using the washer/dryer as a shipping station. After a few seasons the business grew to the point that Brian could no longer park his car in his garage, so he moved their operations into their current location.

In January of 2010 CampBound.com was honored to be selected as a finalist for the 2010 SNEWS / Backpacker Magazine Outdoor Retailer of the Year Award.
Founder, President & CEO

Brian Sehner, founder and president of Sundance Outdoors, Inc. created CampBound.com out of his passion for the outdoors and working with youth around the world.  Brian has spent several years working in sporting goods retail management and numerous years working with youth in a variety of areas.  His love for the outdoors has taken him to the summit of over thirty mountain peaks exceeding 14,000 feet, including Mount Rainier (14,410') in Washington state and El Pico De Orizaba (18,855') in Mexico.  He has spent four summers leading wilderness trips and working at summer camps across the western United States.  Brian has led kids and teens to mountain summits exceeding 14,000 ft., through whitewater rapids on many rivers, across more than 1,000 miles of cross-terrain cycling, and over countless miles of backcountry hiking trails. Brian is the founder, and former trip leader/owner of Pangaea Quest - Teen Adventure School, a “Wall Street Journal” featured camp (April 19, 2002), where he spent two summers leading trips for teens across the Southwestern United States and Alaska.  Brian also spent three winters teaching skiing to kids in Colorado, worked as a river guide in Colorado and Alaska, worked with youth as a day camp counselor, taught hands-on science classes, and volunteered for the Denver Audubon Society.  Brian's dedication to youth has also taken him to war-torn Kosovo where, as an employee representing the International Medical Corps, a humanitarian aide organization, he envisioned and developed programs for Kosovar youth. In 2006 Brian was recognized as one of the "Outdoor Persons of the Year" by Hooked On The Outdoors Magazine.
